1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Cartara, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Cartara.

2. Description of Service

Cartara is an AI-powered tarot reading mobile application. The app features:

• Tarot readings generated by AI (Google Gemini) with unique fortune teller personalities
• Major Arcana card interpretations personalized to your profile
• Both guided and free-prompt reading formats
• Available in English and Italian

All readings are generated by artificial intelligence and are for entertainment purposes only.

3. Entertainment Disclaimer

This is the most important section of these terms. Please read it carefully.

• Tarot readings provided by Cartara are for entertainment and personal reflection only
• Readings are AI-generated content — they are not predictions, prophecies, or factual statements
• Cartara does not provide professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal, financial, therapeutic, or psychological advice
• Do not make important life decisions based on tarot readings
• AI-generated content may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or nonsensical
• If you are experiencing a crisis or need professional help, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services

4. Account Terms

• You may create one account per person
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must provide accurate information during signup (name, email, birth date)
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• A device identifier is collected to prevent credit system abuse

5. Credit System and Purchases

5a. Free Tier

• 2 free readings per day (per device, resets at midnight UTC)
• You can earn bonus credits by watching rewarded video ads

5b. Credit Purchases

• Credits are non-refundable consumable digital items
• Credits have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or cashed out
• Available packages: Starter, Popular, and Value
• Purchased credits do not expire

5c. Premium Subscription

• Monthly or Yearly subscription plans available
• Premium unlocks: unlimited readings, no ads, exclusive fortune teller, and unlimited reading history
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Cancellation and refunds follow Google Play Store and Apple App Store policies — manage your subscription through your device’s store settings
• Premium benefits end when the subscription period expires after cancellation
• Unused portions of free trial periods are forfeited upon subscribing

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Abuse the credit system or attempt to obtain credits fraudulently
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the app
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, device restrictions, or security measures
• Submit harmful, illegal, abusive, or offensive content in free-prompt questions
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose

We use AI-based safety checks on user input and reserve the right to filter or refuse content that violates these guidelines.

7. AI-Generated Content

• All tarot readings are generated by AI (primarily Google Gemini)
• Content quality and relevance may vary between readings
• We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of AI-generated content
• AI responses are personalized based on your profile information (name, zodiac sign, pronoun)
• Your readings are stored in your reading history and can be viewed or shared by you

8. Analytics and Data Collection

Cartara uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. Analytics data collection is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent:

• After onboarding, you are asked whether to allow analytics
• You can enable or disable analytics at any time from the Settings screen
• If you decline or disable analytics, no usage data is sent to Firebase
• Analytics data includes app usage events (e.g., features used, screens viewed) and profile properties (zodiac sign, generation, pronoun, premium status)

9. Intellectual Property

• The Cartara name, brand, app design, and fortune teller characters are our intellectual property
• Card imagery, descriptions, and content structures are our original content
• Your readings: You may view and share your readings freely. We retain rights to the AI-generated text format and underlying prompt structures

10. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms
• You may request account deletion by contacting privacy@cartara.app
• Upon termination: access to the app is revoked and your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• Purchased credits and active subscription time are not refunded upon termination for cause

11. Limitation of Liability

• Cartara is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied
• We do not warrant that the app will be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• We are not liable for any decisions made based on tarot readings
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not responsible for damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of Cartara shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Cartara after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
